Anse Kerlan

The beach of Anse Kerlan stretches from the small village Amitie to the granit rock formation Pointe Ste. Marie. The sandy beach is as powder fine and white as everywhere on Praslin. An offshore reef protects Anse Kerlan from high waves; here and there some breakwaters or giant granit boulders characteristic of the Seychelles split the long beach. The water is quite shallow, making Anse Kerlan an ideal location for families with children. On the weekends many locals enjoy a day on the beach at Anse Kerlan. Swimming is possible throughout the year. During the summer months an increased growth of seaweed can occur on the west coast. Due to the current leading out to the open sea, Anse Kerlan is normally not affected. Day-to-day the beach offers spectacular sunsets with the islands Mahé, Cousin, Cousine and Silhouette as scenery. Anse Kerlan is one of the quitest beaches on Praslin with only a few accommodation facilities. The nearby airport is no disturbance.
